About The Learning Nest

Our History
Our company was established in 2002 when our founder, Dr. Walter Heidary, could not find a childcare that optimized the significant cognitive development that happens from 0-5 years. Taking matters into his own hands, he opened our first location which was then called Pathways Academy.
Since then, we have grown to multiple locations across the GTHA that operate under 3 brands: The Learning Nest Academy, Childventures and Mighty Kids. Each brand is unique with The Learning Nest as our gold standard.
We have educated over 10,000 children since 2002 and are currently serving over 1,400 families.

At The Learning Nest Academy, we believe that providing children with rich learning experiences and diverse teaching methods during the early years is essential, as 90% of a child’s brain develops before the age of five. Early education plays a pivotal role in shaping neural pathways, and our mission is to optimize brain development for future learning.
Our evidence-based curriculum combines three respected models, Montessori, HighScope and Core Knowledge, enhanced by enrichment programs such as Baby Signs, STEM and Jolly Phonics. We understand that each child’s educational journey is unique, and we tailor our approach to meet their individual needs. Our goal is to ensure each child thrives!
